Lake Rhodhiss is a pristine lake located at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Western North Carolina. The lake was created by Duke Power Company and is popular for its water clarity and accessibility to areas like Hickory, Charlotte, Asheville, Winston-Salem and the lovely mountains in Boone. Lake Rhodhiss NC is a popular place to enjoy swimming, boating, water skiing, and fishing. In fact, there are many fishing tournaments held on the lake, as it is home to a variety of different species of fish.
Duke Energy built the Rhodhiss dam in 1925 , which is 65 feet high and 1,500 feet long. Lake Rhodhiss was birthed with 90 miles of shoreline and a surface area of approximately 3,060 acres.
